Types of Industrial Pneumatic Vibrators
Pneumatic vibrators are industrial mechanical flow aids operated by gas or air pressure. They produce the needed vibration to aid in the flow of different kinds of materials through pipes, beans, hoppers and chutes in industrial processing plants. Some of the main types of industrial pneumatic vibrators you are likely to come across include the following:
Ball Vibrators
Ball vibrators work by spinning a hard steel ball at very high speeds within an equally hardened steel chamber. The chamber walls are usually well polished and lubricated to ensure smooth operation. Compressed air drives the ball at high speed producing centrifugal force, which creates vibrations. The vibrations are then transferred to the necessary objects, where the vibrator is mounted on. Ball vibrators are usually small and compact. They are much easier to handle and install. Ball vibrators are also resistant to water and dust and can withstand a number of chemicals. Their resilience makes them ideal for environments like steamy plants, chemical processing units and dusty locations.
Turbine Vibrators
Turbine vibrators make use of compressed air to spin an inbuilt turbine, which in turn produces multi-directional vibrations. Turbine pneumatic vibrators produce the required vibrations to help prevent materials from adhering to surfaces. They are mostly used on sieves and hoppers, making them ideal for pharmaceutical and food industries. Turbine vibrators have minimal noise operation. You can also adjust its operation by controlling the amount of air supplied to it. Turbine vibrators are usually adjusted depending on the amount of vibrations needed. Turbine pneumatic vibrators are far more efficient; they do not require frequent maintenance tasks like lubrication and will outlast most ball vibrators. Typical application for these types of vibrators includes feeding equipment, chutes, sand hoppers, screens and batchers.
Piston Vibrators
Piston vibrators produce a linear force when supplied with compressed air. Air going into its inlet agitates an internal piston in the vibrator, which creates a linear reciprocating force that can then be used for different units like small feeding trays, flexible plate hoppers and compacting tables. Piston vibrators are ideal for pushing cut paper on small-feed trays. They have a very quiet operation and are hardly ever heard. You can mount them on bins, chutes and weigh batchers. Piston vibrators are ideal for industries handling bulk materials. They are very reliable and offer unmatched durability due to the fact they have fewer parts, which require very little or no maintenance. They are highly efficient and able to produce superior impact linear force.
